So if they implemented a monthly fee, you'd still play? I wouldn't.

Not with such small amount of content, no. But your reason of playing ("it's free") doesn't really help making the game look any better in the eyes of the outsiders (and that's my point).
If anything, it says that you (like me in the past) can't afford something better and is kinda stuck with GW.

...and it is one of the few games that successfully combines PvE with PvP.

Lol add me to that laugh line as well, that probably was the funniest line in the whole article. lol

The complaints of players unable to deal with this system, or generally disliking it, do not invalidate it as an overall success.

Says you, when you have 10 other people telling you that you are wrong, you're wrong. Combining PVE with PVP has been a total failure other threads have said as much many times over and there would be even more but you keep deleting them. <grin>

The article was alright, but not something I used to get a friend interested in the game.
Also, I certainly wouldn't direct them here, what with everyone whining and bemoaning every little thing that does or doesn't happen. Not the greatest atmosphere for those of us that still enjoy the game.
(The reason I am here? I laugh and play anyway.)

I'd say this forum is for aged players, rather than the newer ones, if only due to the attitudes of the many.
Ignorance may be bliss, but surely having fun is better than being turned bitter to something you've barely known?

It depends on people's attitude, really. If I wanna play a game, I'm quite sure I won't take the opinions of some random people on the forums too seriously. It's my opinion that matters the most. Other people's opinion can mostly tell me what I can expect, that's all.

True, but I'm basing my approach on the (somewhat stereotypical, I admit) average impressionable newbie. Seeing players that have been around longer attacking most corners of the game could be very off-putting.
Then again, anyone with even the slightest bit of sceptism would try the game out for themselves to form their own opinion, rather than go on solely the opinions of others.
P.S. It's nice to have a discussion like this
